BHS staff led after-school activities will begin in October and run daily from 3:30pm-5:30pm. These programs are available to both Middle and High School students.

After-School Procedures
All students are required to submit this permission slip. Paper copies can be submitted to your advisor, or emailed directly to jacqueline.carrier@k497.org. DOWNLOAD HERE.

After school activities will run from 3:30pm-5:30pm. At the conclusion of the school day (3:20pm), students should proceed to the activity of their choosing, no pre-registration is required. Students attending a program that concludes at 4:30pm will self-dismiss or are free to join another activity until 5:30pm.

Safety Protocols
All BHS policies and safety procedures will be adhered to for all after school programs.

Our Middle School CCM Partnership
For middle school students, in addition to our BHS teacher-led after school programs, we currently are supported by CCM (Community, Counseling, and Mediation). For these programs, you will need to complete a separate consent form. The hours for CCM are 3:30pm-6:00pm. Their afterschool program begins on September 19th.

Art: Open Studio Work on your latest piece of art or create a new one with the support of Ms. Raz.

Dance Club: Perfect your moves, learn new dance routines and prepare for upcoming Dance events.

Drama Club: Audition, rehearse, and perform in the BHS school play.

Film Club: Watch, discuss, and analyze a diverse selection of films with those that share a passion for film.

Fitness Club Spend some time sweating in the Fitness Room engaging in strength training, cardio work, and flexibility.

Game Club: Relax and connect with friends in a laid back atmosphere while playing some classic board games.

Gardening Club: Plant and tend to our community gardens to help turn BHS green and support our culinary program.

Language and Literature Support: Get support on important L&L topics to ensure your reading and writing expertise is exactly where you want it to be.

Library – Open Access Take advantage of the great digital and print resources the library has
to offer, with the support of our school librarian as needed.

Lit Magazine: Collaborate with peers to develop a BHS Literature Magazine.

Math Support: Work with Math teachers to get support on all key math topics.

Senior Committee: Assume a leadership role for this year’s senior events including prom graduation, and more.

Soccer Club: Sharpen your soccer skills and compete against your peers.

Women’s Empowerment: Discuss and collaborate on women’s issues and create an
empowering space for women and allies.

Anime/Manga Club: Dive into all things anime and manga with those that share your interest.

Art Club: Work on your latest piece of art or create a new one with the support of Ms. Butler.

Basketball Club: Sharpen your basketball skills and compete against your peers.

Chess Club: Exercise your mind and develop your chess skills with peers.

Culture Club: A forum for students to share and experience unique cultures, engage
in community service work, and become activists for change.

French Cinema Club: Watch, discuss, and analyze a diverse selection of French films with
those that share a passion for French language and culture.

LGBTQ+ Alliance: A network of LGBTQ+ and questioning peers and their allies. Working
together to build community, host events, hold discussions, and support one another.

Math Support: Work with Math teachers to get support on all key math topics.

RPG/Dungeons and Dragons Club: Connect with peers while enjoying games of Dungeons and Dragons and other RPGs.

Running/Walking Club: Run, walk, play, socialize and enjoy the fresh air while raising your heart rate.

Sign Language Club: Learn the basics or freshen up on your sign language skills.
Soccer Club Sharpen your soccer skills and compete against your peers.

Student Leadership: Be an agent for change in the BHS community and beyond. Connect
with other leadership-minded peers and spearhead projects.

Yearbook Club: Be a part of the Middle School Yearbook creation process from
beginning to end, including photography, content creating, editing, and much more.
